St Chris is seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher of Music to join our small, dedicated team and play a key role in a department where creativity, collaboration and confidence grow in equal measure. Music is at the heart of life at St Chris. It enriches our community through performance, shared experiences and the joy of discovery. Every student is encouraged to explore their musical identity through singing, instrumental performance, composition or simply listening with curiosity. Our approach is rooted in participation and expression, enabling each young person to develop their skills, find their voice and experience the power of music to connect and inspire. We are looking for a well-qualified teacher with QTS and a relevant degree, who brings substantial demonstrable experience of teaching BTEC Digital Music Production and A Level Music. The successful candidate will be confident delivering across the age range, from Junior School through to Key Stage 5, and will combine strong subject knowledge with the ability to inspire, challenge and nurture students of all abilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rich and ambitious curriculum:
Music at St Chris extends far beyond the classroom. Students regularly perform in concerts, productions and community events, from Junior School showcases to larger-scale performances supported by excellent facilities. The successful candidate will be eager to contribute to this vibrant co-curricular programme and help sustain a culture where music is shared, celebrated and accessible to all. As part of a small team, you will play a significant role in shaping the musical life of the school. This role would suit a collaborative and reflective practitioner who enjoys working closely with colleagues and values the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. To apply, please complete an application form (we do not accept CVs as an educational institution) and submit this, together with a covering letter to the People team at hr@stchris.co.uk. The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Wednesday 13 May 2026. The school reserves the right to interview candidates ahead of the closing date, and applications will be considered as they are received. |
