Boarding Accommodation
St Chris’ boarding house is a "home away from home" in the boarding house at St Chris, where students aged 11 to 18 thrive in our comfortable and secure accommodation.
Whether opting for full, weekly, or flexi boarding, the St Chris boarding house goes beyond mere residence – for many students, it becomes an integral part of their St Chris experience.
A Haven for Learning and Growth
St Chris Boarding is not just about a place to stay; the boarding house promotes a lifestyle that fosters academic dedication and the pursuit of passions. Boarders enjoy the flexibility to immerse themselves in studies and co-curricular activities, creating lasting memories with friends. Supervised prep time, access to our extensive 25-acre campus, and a plethora of activities and trips ensure that boarders truly make the most of their school life.
Arundale: Your Boarding Home at the Heart of St Chris
Nestled at the heart of our 25-acre campus, Arundale is more than just a boarding house – it's a vibrant community overlooking sports fields and gardens. Each student enjoys a comfortable single bedroom, with shared modern bathrooms and inviting social spaces, including sitting rooms, television and games rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen for hot drinks and snacks.
Age-Appropriate Living Spaces
To cater to the diverse needs of our students, bedrooms in Arundale are grouped by age, with younger boarders and Sixth Form boarders in different areas of the house. The Sixth Form boarding spaces provide older students with their own social areas, allowing for separate or shared use based on individual preferences.
Dedicated House Parents and Supportive Tutors
Arundale is a home looked after by dedicated houseparents, Chris and Cecilia Drayton, supported by resident tutors and the Boarding Lead, Joe Sapsford. Together with gap students, they bridge the gap between pastoral and academic care, ensuring a holistic and supportive environment.
Exploring Letchworth: A Green Oasis Close to London and Cambridge
Situated just a brief ten-minute walk from the school, the picturesque town of Letchworth offers a delightful escape. Boasting its own cinema, library, coffee shops, independent stores, and lush green parks, Letchworth provides a charming backdrop to St Chris life. The town's central connectivity to airports and the national rail network, with direct trains to London, Cambridge, and beyond, adds to its appeal.
St Chris’s boarding accommodation is more than just a place to rest; it's a dynamic part of our students' educational journey. From tailored living spaces to dedicated house parents, we ensure that every boarder feels at home, supported, and ready to thrive.
