Welcome
Welcome to Boarding at St Chris
Boarding at St Chris is a tight-knit community, offering a friendly and supportive environment, at present made up of full boarders, weekly boarders, and regular flexi boarders who board up to three nights a week.
The boarding team is made up of houseparents and resident tutors, and we also have two fantastic gap year students, who also live in. With student accommodation being mostly single bedrooms, boarders have the space and freedom to be themselves and have that 'home from home' feel.
We seek to provide a homely and informal boarding experience where mutual respect and consideration for others is highly valued and everyone feels comfortable and cared for. The boarding house is co-educational, with girls and boys in separate corridors but free to socialise together. We believe that boarding enables our students to become more socially confident, independent and responsible – plus they have fun!
A Varied and Fun Lifestyle
Boarders are in a great position to take advantage of the many after-school clubs and activities on offer, and there is supervised ‘prep’ every evening from Monday to Thursday, taken by a member of the teaching staff. There are also opportunities to do baking in the school’s Vegge Centre (our cookery centre), have fun swims in the school pool, and take part in organised sports and games in the Sports Hall.
Every Saturday there are varied and exciting trips or activities for the weekend boarders. Trips this year so far have included Harry Potter Studio Tour, Christmas panto, go-karting, indoor tobogganing, paintballing, laser tag, escape room and a West End show. Weekly boarders may also join in with these trips by arrangement.
