Culture and Ethos
In the St Chris Junior School, our culture and ethos revolve around the belief that every child is unique and possesses boundless potential waiting to be discovered. We are dedicated to unlocking this potential by providing a dynamic and holistic educational experience. Our approach is rooted in nurturing not only academic growth but also the personal development of each student. We strive to create an atmosphere where children feel safe, inspired, and excited to learn. By fostering an environment of respect, kindness, and inclusion, we help students become responsible, compassionate, and resilient individuals.
Bright and Open Spaces
The Junior School is full of bright and open spaces that serve as the canvas for pupils’ educational journeys. The expansive campus, brimming with greenery, creates an environment that's both stimulating and soothing. Students can learn indoors and outdoors, allowing them to connect with nature and develop a love for the environment through Forest School lessons or outdoor play. The natural surroundings provide a sense of tranquillity, enhancing concentration and encouraging curiosity.
Among our many Junior School facilities, we have a dedicated Forest School – the Junior School orchard – where children embark on exciting outdoor adventures and engage in hands-on experiences to learn about the world around them. These sessions offer the perfect blend of structured activities and child-led exploration, allowing young minds to flourish in a natural setting. Forest School sessions build self-confidence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the environment.
Colourful Classrooms
Our classrooms reflect the vibrant energy that flows through the Junior School. Bright, colourful, and thoughtfully designed, these spaces are curated to stimulate young minds. Students and teachers work together to create displays that showcase their collective achievements and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Approachable, Committed and Enthusiastic Staff
The heart of our Junior School is its exceptional staff. Our teachers are more than just educators; they are mentors, guides, and cheerleaders for each child. Each child is known and understood by their class teachers and teaching assistants. Known for their approachable and bubbly nature, our staff are dedicated to creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their ideas, and seeking support whenever needed. The strong bonds between students and staff are a testament to the warm and inclusive community we've cultivated here in the Junior School.
Generating Lifelong Friendships
One of the most precious aspects of Junior School Life at St Chris is the opportunity to forge lifelong friendships. Within our close-knit community, students build bonds that extend beyond the school gates. Our school values the importance of teamwork and collaboration, encouraging students to share experiences, solve problems together, and celebrate their achievements. These shared experiences are the foundation of lasting friendships, creating a sense of belonging that lasts well into the future.
