Sixth Form Travel and Trips
We are still progressing, still innovating, still watching and listening to the world around us to guide what we do and how we do it.
At the centre of their journey, our students are not limited by classroom walls or constricted ways of learning. St Chris Sixth Formers go beyond the classroom, particularly in Year 12 (Lower Sixth), exploring tailored educational travel experiences that redefine personal growth and academic enrichment.
Tailored Educational Travel for Sixth Formers
In the Sixth Form at St Chris, educational travel is an integral part of the curriculum designed to enrich academic pursuits and foster personal development.
Our tailored educational trips are crafted to align with the academic curriculum, providing students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of subjects in real-world contexts. Whether delving into historical landmarks, scientific phenomena, or cultural masterpieces, each trip is an extension of the classroom, encouraging hands-on learning and intellectual exploration.
Subject-Specific and Personal Development Adventures
Diverse subject-specific trips cater to the unique interests of Sixth Formers. From scientific expeditions to cultural immersions, each journey is carefully chosen to complement the academic passions of our students.
In the vibrant landscape of St Chris Sixth Form, students encounter a diverse array of experiences, from leadership development initiatives to cultural immersion adventures that shape them into well-rounded individuals.
Leadership Development Trips
Our Sixth Formers actively participate in leadership development trips, where they navigate challenges, make decisions, and collaboratively solve problems. These experiences instil crucial leadership skills, preparing students for future responsibilities in university and beyond. As a School, we work closely with World Challenge, which encourages students to fundraise and take on extra responsibilities within their team. On the run up to these trips, Sixth Form students take part in expedition days where they complete teambuilding exercised and support their peers ahead of their trip.
Cultural Immersion
Beyond the borders of traditional learning, our cultural immersion trips expose students to global perspectives. These journeys foster an appreciation for diversity and broaden horizons, cultivating a sense of open-mindedness crucial in today's interconnected world. Students have previously visited Malaysia, a plethora of European cities, Rajasthan and UK destinations.
Character-Building Adventures
Our trips, particularly at the beginning of our students’ Sixth Form journey, are centred around character-building that challenge them physically and mentally. Whether it's conquering outdoor obstacles or participating in team-building activities, these experiences build resilience, confidence, and a spirit of camaraderie among students.
These provide students with real-world exposure, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and discover their strengths and capabilities. These journeys contribute to the development of essential life skills, including communication, adaptability, and problem-solving. St Chris Sixth Formers can immerse themselves in different cultures, gaining valuable insights and expanding their perspectives.
Building Confidence and Independence
Navigating new environments and taking on challenges independently fosters confidence and independence in our students. These experiences empower them to navigate the complexities of life beyond school, laying a foundation for future success.
Once you’ve experienced the St Chris culture, it’s hard to imagine how else a school should be run.
St Chris Sixth Form’s trips resonate with how St Chris persistently redefines education, offering tailored experiences that transcend textbooks and traditional classrooms. These journeys are not just about reaching a destination; they are about unlocking potential, fostering personal growth, and preparing students for the diverse challenges of the future. Explore the world with St Chris Sixth Form, where every trip is a step towards a holistic and enriching education.
