Senior School Learning at St Chris
St Chris’ absence of a uniform contributes to a unique atmosphere, cultivating relationships built on trust and respect.
Our distinctive approach, addressing everyone by their first names, sets the tone for a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
All about the Senior School
The Senior School begins at Year 7 and continues to Year 11, crucial years in the journey from childhood to adulthood, with children progressing on to the St Chris Sixth Form.
The crucial Senior School years mark the bridge from childhood to adulthood, and we take pride in offering a rich and rewarding educational experience.
Bespoke learning and tracking for students
At St Chris, academic success is not merely measured by exam results but is part of a holistic approach to education. Our students are encouraged to explore a diverse range of academic pathways that align with their interests and aspirations.
We believe in a balanced approach to academics and extracurricular activities, fostering comprehensive student development programmes. The Senior School is committed to personalised learning, empowering students to choose courses that resonate with their passions and propel them toward future success.
In our student-centred approach to learning, we emphasise the importance of effective learning strategies and the development of good work habits. These practices, instilled early in their Senior School life, stay with our students, enabling them to flourish and make the most of their time at St Chris. As they progress to the Sixth Form and beyond, the foundation laid during these formative years serves as a solid base for their continued academic and personal growth.
Holistic Student Development
Our commitment to a holistic student development goes beyond academics. We actively encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, providing numerous opportunities during the school week and weekends such as bonding trips and residential stays. These activities aim to develop our students’ interests, broaden their horizons, and equip them to tackle new challenges. Whether it's joining a sports club, engaging in creative pursuits, or participating in community service, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals.
In the Senior School, each student becomes part of a small Company group, guided by a dedicated Company Adviser. This unique system ensures that every student receives personalised attention, with the Adviser maintaining an overview of their well-being and progress at school. Parents can rest assured that the Adviser, having developed a deep understanding of each child, is readily available as the first point of contact for any queries or concerns.

Our commitment is not just to academic excellence but to fostering an environment where every student can thrive and develop into well-rounded individuals, ready to embrace the challenges of the future.
