International Admissions
International Admissions
St Chris is a community of young people from across the local area, the country and the world.
We aim to make our admissions process for international students as quick and easy as possible. We encourage applicants to make their enquiry through one of our registered international education agents, however we do also accept direct enquiries to the School made by parents or guardians.
It is important that each family refers to the UK Home Office website for up-to-date guidelines and official advice for your particular visa situation and which supporting documents you will need.

A Multicultural School
You will hear us for who we really are; unquestionably respectful, but Zhao, Hannah, Aziz, or Li, not ‘sir’, ‘miss’, ‘ma’am’, or ‘you there’.
At St Chris, we are proud of our multicultural community and believe our diversity aids our dynamic approach to education. From the children in our Nusery to the Sixth Form students residing in our Boarding House, our students have diverse backgrounds, joining us from international and more local cities, towns, and villages. Many different languages are spoken across the school and students are encouraged to celebatre their culture with our community, and share their language skills with peers.
Supporting English as an Additional Language
For students where English is their second language, we offer Junior School, Senior School, and Sixth Form students English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons from our friendly specialist team. These lessons are integral for students to feel part of our school community and are particularly popular with our Senior School and Sixth Form international boarders.
Which Year Group?

Step Two - Entrance Assessment |
English language assessment takes place through our partner Bespoke English Language Testing. Assessment involves an online test and a virtual interview. Feedback will be given following the assessment. Students from within the EU may not need to sit an English language test, depending on the tests they have sat with their agent. We consider this on a case by case basis. Pupils wishing to take A Level Maths or Physics also need to take the School’s maths test. This is taken either in the agent’s offices, a British Council office in the country of residence or at the student’s current school. The final stage of the application is a remote interview with the Head, Rich Jones. English levels required for entryFor pupils aged 11 to 15 (Years 7 to 10) we would expect pupils to be at the equivalent of PET level (B1 Preliminary). For pupils aged 16 and up (Year 12) we require an equivalent level of English to IELTS 5.5. All applications are vetted by shared with our Head of EALto assess what level of support is required. We will assess each case individually and will consider several factors such as attitude to learning when deciding on whether to make the offer of a place. |
Step Three - Offer |
If the decision is made to offer a place, parents will be sent the offer letter together with the Acceptance Form. A completed Acceptance Form and the payment of a deposit secures the place at St Christopher School. There are also additional forms to complete to ensure we have the required information for when your child starts at St Chris (for example, medical information). Full details of all information required will be shared with you at this point. The offer letter will include details about the next steps that need to be taken when applying for a visa, and any costs, additional to the fees, that you may be required to pay. Please note that pupils whose parents live outside of the EU must have a UK-based guardian. |
