Positions of Responsibility
Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: Senior School Positions of Responsibility
At St Chris, students are actively encouraged to take on extra responsibility within our community.
In the Senior School, we offer a diverse range of positions of responsibility that foster personal development, pupil-led initiatives, and teamwork.
We believe in cultivating leadership skills from an early age. Our Senior School Leadership Roles provide students with the chance to embrace responsibility, contributing to the well-being of the school community. These roles, including Major Official positions, empower students to lead by example and make a lasting impact.
Our School Council is a cornerstone of our school community. Students actively participate in decision-making processes, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the school's future. Students have complete autonomy over the decision-making process, making decisions democratically and involving the whole school community. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of ownership and belonging. Students typically take pride in their School Council roles because of the level of autonomy available to them. The School Council also work together on larger projects, for example, reviewing the School Council constitution.
Pupil-Led Initiatives: Fuelling Innovation and Creativity
St Chris encourages pupils to take the initiative and bring forth their creative ideas at election and within their roles day-to-day. These pupil-led initiatives empower students to spearhead projects, events, and activities, promoting a culture of innovation and fostering a sense of pride in their accomplishments. Students can start fundraising campaigns, review the logistics of the school, and run school events.
Student Democracy: A Thriving Culture of Inclusion
At the heart of St Chris is a commitment to student democracy. Our inclusive culture ensures that every student has a say in shaping their educational journey. Through democratic processes, students learn valuable lessons about civic engagement, cooperation, and the impact of their decisions.
Personal Development, Beyond Academics
Our Positions of Responsibility in the Senior School provide students with a platform for personal development. From effective communication to critical thinking, these roles nurture skills essential for success in both academic and real-world scenarios. Students feel these roles are a great opportunity to develop their individual skills, with those applying to University after Sixth Form using these opportunities to spearhead their UCAS applications.
Major Officials: Guiding the Course of Change
One distinctive feature of our Senior School is the role of Major Officials, who hold key positions in the student body. These individuals, the heads of our democracy, play a pivotal role in driving profound change across the entire school. From proposing initiatives to representing student concerns, Major Officials are at the forefront of shaping the St Chris experience.
Our Senior School Positions of Responsibility are opportunities for students to thrive, lead, and make a difference. If your child is ready to embark on a journey of empowerment and growth, St Chris is the place for you.
