Welcome To The Sixth Form
Hello and Welcome to the Sixth Form
A crucial life chapter, the Sixth Form offers exciting possibilities for our students.
The Sixth Form marks a crucial chapter in our students' lives, where they embark on a journey of self-discovery, inquiry, and preparation for their future endeavours. Our goal is to provide our students with an inspiring and challenging environment where they can discover their passions, ask big questions, and develop the motivation to succeed on their journey beyond the school.
Situated in a bright, friendly, and purposeful building adjacent to the main school site, our Sixth Form provides our oldest students with a unique space to grow, become more independent, and flourish within a supportive environment.
This phase represents the pinnacle of school life, where academic challenges, personal development, and a spectrum of co-curricular activities converge to create a holistic experience for each individual.
Academic Excellence in a Supportive Setting
At St Chris, we offer a diverse range of A Level courses, ensuring that students can pursue their passions with personalised attention in small class sizes. Our commitment to a well-balanced curriculum extends beyond academics, with thriving extracurricular provisions in drama, music, and sports. The Sixth Form journey is a blend of hard work and enjoyment, fostering an environment where students thrive.
Personalised Support and Guidance
Understanding the significant transition from GCSE to 16+ study, we provide a personalised support programme for each student. Personal Tutors play a pivotal role, offering guidance, and advice, and acting as critical friends and supporters. Weekly formal meetings address both pastoral and academic progress, ensuring a comprehensive approach to our students' growth and development.
A Tradition of Academic Success
Our relatively small size ensures that students receive outstanding, personalized support as they navigate decisions about their future, including university entrance, college, or apprenticeship applications. St Chris has a longstanding record of academic success, with students regularly gaining admission to top universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and others of the Russell Group.
“At St Chris, students are active contributors to the school community. Opportunities through the School Council and roles as Major Officials empower students to shape the school's development. Community service is integral to individual growth and our commitment to the local community.
Exciting trips and visits are woven into the fabric of our Sixth Form experience, offering students opportunities to broaden their worldview and step out of their comfort zones. These experiences contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals ready to face the challenges of the world beyond school.
All of this means that St Chris offers a genuinely stimulating environment and the opportunity for our students to develop the confidence to view all that may be on their horizon while supporting pupils in finding the very best path to reach their goals.”
