Optional subjects, chosen based on individual strengths and interests, offer a personalized learning journey. Beyond the classroom, the Options program enriches students' experiences with a variety of extracurricular activities, ranging from advanced cookery and archery to filmmaking and robotics.
PSHE and Extracurricular Activities
A dedicated weekly PSHE lesson, following a curriculum created with the PSHE Association, explores topics under the themes of Health & Wellbeing, Living in the Wider World, and Relationships.
Library and Morning Talks
The school Library, based in the Mulberry Building, is a hub of quiet study, open all day for reading, homework, or computer use. Morning Talks, held three times a week, provide a platform for music, performance, and a period of silence—an opportunity for reflection within the bustling school day.
Transition to Sixth Form and Beyond
Moving into Sixth Form marks an exciting transition supported by a comprehensive program. Year 11 students engage in discussions with the Senior Management Team to plan A-level choices and post-16 plans. The school's dedicated careers program, Pathways, guides students from Year 10, incorporating work experience for a holistic approach to career development.
The structure of the school day reflects a commitment to a balanced, engaging education. St Chris doesn't just shape students; it empowers them to navigate the complexities of learning, exploration, and personal growth in a changing world.
