Accessing a St Chris Scholarship
At St Chris, we offer a number scholarships to support applications to the school from students who excel academically or in the visual arts.
A St Christopher School Scholarship enables students access to new opportunities such as materials for art, or to give back to the community. Scholarship students are expected to act as role models for other students and are proud to hold a St Chris Scholarship.
What is a Scholarship? |
---|
Each year, St Chris offers scholarships in the Senior School for entry into Year 7, Year 9 and Sixth Form to students who excel academically in the entrance assessment or show outstanding talent in art. There is one Academic Scholarship and one Art Scholarship awarded per year for each of these year groups. Scholarships represent a value of a 10% remission on day fees. On the occasion where more Scholarships are allocated, we may offer a lower fee remission to more applicants. |
Who are Scholarships for? |
Scholarships are for our most gifted and talented students in these areas, who are keen to contribute to the wider school community. |
Academic Scholarships
All candidates applying to enter Year 7 and Year 9 are automatically considered for an Academic Scholarship based on the outcome of their entrance assessment, including the interview.
Scholarships for entry into Year 12 are awarded following consideration of an applicant’s performance in their GCSE examinations, and their interview with the Head.
Art Scholarships
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a lively enthusiasm for the subject, as well as proven ability to produce imaginative, thoughtful, and creative responses through a variety of media, ideas, and approaches.
Parents are asked to indicate their interest in applying for an Art Scholarship at the point of registering for a place.
Candidates are then invited to a 30-minute interview with the Head of Art, to which we ask them to bring samples of their work.
The Admissions team will contact parents with additional information once they have indicated that they are interested in applying.
The deadline for registering interest in an Art Scholarship for entry in September 2025 is Friday 22 November 2024.
Financial Assistance
St Chris offers financial assistance (Bursaries) to encourage applications from families who may otherwise not be able to afford the full fees at St Chris. Please follow the ink below for further information.
