We're delighted to welcome you to the St Chris Inter-School Recycled Fashion Show which has been running for more than 27 years.
This year’s show takes place on Saturday 1 March 2025 at St Chris in our Theatre, and schools and home-schooled children from across Hertfordshire are involved.
Tickets are £6.00 and are now on sale by clicking the button below.
This year's theme is Express Yourself! and costumes are currently being designed and made across the county making use of recycled materials in their construction. At the end of the show, there is a catwalk presentation with the entries judged according to various categories.
The judging panel will be made up of a number of professionals working in the fields of fashion and the arts, and prizes will be awarded. There will also be an interval performance involving live music, exhibitions and stalls.
Following the show we have organised for an exhibition of photographs of the costumes and some of the costumes themselves in The Letchworth Settlement. There will be a private view on Thursday 13 March 2025 with the exhibition open to the general public from Friday 14 March to Wednesday 2 April (in the last week of term.)
This year all profits from the Recycled Fashion Show will go to the charity Conservation Optimism, founded at Oxford University to acknowledge the mental health difficulties young people can face when worrying about the future of the planet. Their mission is to improve trends for species and ecosystems worldwide by empowering people from all walks of life to make a positive impact instead of being left feeling hopeless and powerless by the destruction of nature.
