Year 10 (IV Group) pupil Zahra had a very insightful week of work experience at Computacenter in Hatfield during the last week of term at their picturesque Head Office.
Zahra said that the Computacenter team were warm and friendly and that it was beneficial seeing the nuances between the office and school environment. Not only has work experience allowed Zahra to get a taste of office life, she has also enjoyed a visit to the warehouse and getting to grips with understanding the wide scope of Computacenter’s processes and services.
A highly ambitious glimpse at working life, Zahra has been involved in meetings with directors of the business and expressed the importance of asking questions in the working world. “The difference between school and working is that you’re the one asking questions,” Zahra added, mentioning that asking these questions – especially early on – is highly important. Apprenticeship Team Leader Julie Sanelli added that Zahra has jumped right into working life and had significantly more confidence by day 3!
Zahra’s week at Computacenter was one of many during Work Experience Week here at St Chris, where 28 pupils were enthused about experiencing the professional world! Well done, Zahra!
